ECT has been awarded a contract with a major organisation in New Zealand to conduct a horizon scanning project to identify potential technology solutions that could be applied to predator free efforts in New Zealand. This project is to identify tools, systems and approaches that have been developed internationally, principally for use in other industries. It is hoped that the project will highlight one or some tools that could be trialled in New Zealand for detection and surveillance of target pest animals. The initial phase of horizon scanning and analysis is expected to be completed in Q2 2020.
